Hello:

I updated my decuments and I am waiting them to reply. My question is: do they send an email as well as a letter? or they send letters only.

London, usually mail, although some applicants whose medicals were close to expiry got emails to submit their passports.

Unless you requested correspondence by email, it will be a letter. (Some offices don't correspond by email)
