i have sent my PP,RPRF,MED to CHC on 24th of NOV, But what thing is that , my wife is pregnant and she is in 4th month, but in medicals she has not underwent X ray as is not advised by Gynecologist , and we told the concerned doctor who done my medicals that she is pregnant and we dont want to do x ray, and we have submited a letter from Gynecologist ,

After all i got a letter from CHC that she has to under go Chest X ray.

So,finally she has to under go X ray, for this i came to know there is a option like Double LED protection Sheets, is this preferable or is this way also harmfull to the baby inside,

PLz let me know and share , suggest me what to do next .

PLZ anyone know what to do in this istuation plz plz plz let me know ASAP. will be waiting for replies guys.......

i think its not a very uncommon practise sometimes they use led protection if someone is in doubt of bieng pregnant, as your wife is in her 4th month its better to consult her doc. before doing any such thing she shuld advise you best

x-ray is not adviced during pregnancy. Which means it's not prohibited. It is just not healthy for the featus to be under SUCCESSIVE x-ray beams.
Scientifically talking, the featus will be harmed if exposed with x-rays of 10 rads. Let's be on the safe side and say we dont want to exceed 5 rads. The chest x-ray done for a mother will make the baby exposed to 0.06 rads. So my advice is to go for it without doubt.

To be sure just google this: "pregnant chest x-ray"

Hopefully discussion on page 49 on the following link is of some help to you.

@ LH84 Appreciate your response......glad being a dentist you took time to explain, you are really a good citizen. :)

From my exp my wife had a tooth issue, and dr. had to take her x-ray, they did so by making her wear 2 LED protection sheets. That was in US. I think it should be fine but ofcourse you should go as per her doctor's advice.
