I think number of people answered your question earlier. Language proficiency is not calculated for each profession its an standard thing people with applying as welder and people applying under some management category have to show some proficiency.

I WANT TO SHOW U THAT CHART

NOC SPAEAKING LISTENING READING WRITING
O,A 8 6.5 7.5 6.5 6.5
O,A 7 6.0 6.0 6.0 6.0
O,A,B 6 5.5 5.5 5.0 5.5
B 5 5.0 5.0 4.0 5.0
B 4 4.0 4.5 3.5 4.0

ON CIC WEBSITE IT IS WRITTEN THAT CANADIAN EXPERIENCE CLASS MUST MEET THE ABOVE MENTIONED CRITERIA,,THEY CAN CHECK THAT, IS THERE OCCUPATION MEETS DEMEND OF IELTS FOR THAT OCCUPATION...BUT THEY DID NOT MENTIONED THAT FEDEARL APPLICANTS CAN ALSO CHECK IT..WHATS THIS?
NOW WILL U TELL ME THAT NOC 1221 AS IT IS UNDER NOC B SKILLS SO LESS THAN 5.5 BAND IELTS SUFFICENT FOR NOC 1221 (ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER)
BUT CAN WE OUTSIDE CANADA NOT CANADNIAN EXPERIENCE CLASS CHECK OUR IELTS ON THIS CHART
IS 4.5 BAND OK WITH NOC 1221
PLZ PLZ PLZ ANSWER ME.............

plz help me......................

plz any one can help me that the above mentioned chart which actually for canadian experience class,,,is it also applicable to federal applicants
plz guide me.................

Hi,

See it depends on the NOC you are applying for like NOC 4131 teachers they need to have good english proficiency otherwise they wont be able to teach in Canada so these days visa officers are pointing this out to the applicants whose english is not good. If your sister overall score is 4.5 i am afraid its very low and depending on her NOC visa officers can raise this point. I would say to be on the safe side re-sit the IELTS if she hasnt submitted the full docs yet.

Cheers

Dear anayya, thats what I was trying to explain you from long time. You can't compare FSW with canadian experience class. They are two different categories. CIC assumes that those who are in Canada from 1-2 years may have basic grasp on English. I can give you an easy example. I know a guy who is currently English literature professor in my University. He has a PhD in English literature from University of Toronto. He didn't submitted his IELTS results as he thought that he should get enough proficiency points due to his PhD but he was asked to submit test results. Do you think that IELTS can be compared to PhD, no way the VO have set of rules they just follow those. Another experience is my friend he submitted his application to London, got following scores in IELTS
istening-4.5
reading-5.5
writing-4.0
speaking-5.5 Under NOC 1111

he has 69 points, but his VO has asked him to submit new IELTS (my friend asked for extension to submit new results) results as VO thinks that he may not able to settle in Canada with these language skills. This friend of mine is in Britain since 2003, working their. As I said earlier its up to you, but the best we can say is our opinion. If she scored 4.5 she can spent a month do practice and boost up score. I believe that these language test can't check your correct ability as its proven fact that 68% (Check UC Berkley web for this research) of people are not good in testing. The exam or university results not reflect true ability, but what can we do it's VO whose decision matters not ours. Good luck
