Hello everyone,
I received the invitation to apply for Canadian Experience Class with less than a year work experience. I started working 27 July,2015 and I’ve got the invitation on 1 June,2016. My weekly hours are 37.5. Should I accept the invitation or not? Has anybody have the same situation?
Thank you

Hi Sid,

I am in the same situation. I received ITA on 1-June-2016. I think you have 44 weeks and 3 days (44.3*30= 1410hrs) as of 1-June-2016.

As per my PGWP issue date, I am short of 18 days for 52 weeks (i.e, 49 weeks and 1473 hrs) .

I am not 100% sure , whether the work experience that I have gained while WAITING for PGWP will be counted towards my 1 year of Canadian experience. If it counts, I completed my 52 weeks (i.e., 54.8 full-time weeks and 1653hrs).

One of the expert (Raj) suggested me that it will be counted. But it is up to the discretion of the officer to decide itseems.

I am totally confused now. Whether to accept the invitation or not?

Less than 1 year is NOT 1 year, no matter how many hours you work per week! How difficult is it to understand?

Thanks. I understand that my work experience is less than a year but I cant understand that why the system send me an invitation????and because CIC send the invitation I should accept or not?

Because CIC system currently considers only the month and year. There is no option to enter the day. As per the system, July-Jun is 1 year. That is the reason we got points and invitation.

OP do not accept ITA application will be rejected.
Its advisable to create profile after you have completed 52 weeks in your job

Thank you both. so, should I decline the invitation or let it expire?

Wait until it passes your 1 year mark then decline. If you immediately decline that ITA at this time, you may get another ITA before your 1 year. Although it doesn't really matter declining multiple times, you can save the very ITA to somebody else who really needs.
