Dear Friends,

I am an international student from india in Canada, i reached canada in january 2013 and took withdrawal from sheridan college. Because my brother wants to move to alberta so i have to move with him. In alberta i have applied for NAIT college but havenot got offer letter from there. At the time of withdrawal Sheridan asked me to submit new offer letter, so i arranged offer letter from humber college for $75 and submitted at sheridan. And still i dont have offer letter from NAIT. At NAIT course is starting in september.
I am very nervous. What will be consequences???

Thanks for help

Hi Soorma,

I'm in a similar situation. I'm just amazed how you can get an offer letter so quickly? Usually, it takes weeks to get an offer letter.

Anyways, it all depends on the college. So far, i know that George brown and Centennial are being very nasty if you ask for withdrawal and refund. They are asking for either a confirmed return ticket or offer letter from another college. In both cases, they wont refund the tuition to you, instead if you leave the country they will send it to your home account or send it to anyone you point out in Canada.

And if you give them offer letter from another college, they will give that fee to the other college.

I'm just wondering, are they going to literally go to airport to see off the person, or will CIC cancel the permit once the person departs from Canada?

Anyone knows about it? If you can also quote the source of info, that will be great.

cheers

1. You can stay in Canada as long as your permit is valid. At present, no rules which restrict students from dropping semester/course. You will have problem at the time of re-entering Canada, immigration would love to piss you off for want of your student status.
