go to any airline website and read their pregnant travel policy, some allow travel without any restrictions and some need a letter from the obs-gyn doctor that pregnancy is not having any complications .....

Hi, as far as I know one can travel upto 9th month there is no risk or problem to the mother or the baby...... the best thing is if a person is 7 or 8th month pregnant and you have your visa, go to canada and the baby will be Canadian CITIZEN, And you don't have to worry abt anything even in the future.... only thing is make sure you have enough funds to pay for the delivery in case you dont get the health care by the date of delivery......
I have friends who have traveled even in 9th month, not all airlines will object.....
try to take a direct flight to toronto if you can, avoid transition not that there is any risk but it might not be comfortable....
Hope this will help.
Chandu, this is unhealthy advice :(

Doctor giving such advice is just wrong.. It was much better when you were just a guy trying to help.

ok guys relax.......
as per my knowledge if the pregnancy is not having complications there is no problem in traveling upto 36 weeks(around 8 months)..... and it is the one's OBS-GYN doctor will give a final decision and it is upto the person & spouce who is pregnant to decide.
now take it easy....

And this is your expert opinion as a dentist?

I personally know of a case where gynecologist allowed travel and same gynecologist, blamed complications and subsequent miscarriage to that travel (short flight:KHI - DXB).

The important part is something that even you have mentioned: it is upto the person and spouse to decide. That is why people come to this forum for advice and find others with similar experience to help make that decision. And when they see that a qualified doctor is saying it is not a problem, they tend to be influenced by it.

My humble request to you: please be conservative in giving your opinion and highlight all risks, if you are going to support it with your medical (or dental) degree, the same way you would have in your US hospital.

I have a similar case, I hope it would help—

My wife was 5 months pregnant in the start of September this year, we decided to wait till mid of November before informing VO about this pregnancy and if we get our visas before we will travel and delivers the baby in Canada. Our visas are intact now and we are planning to move in early days of November.

I think, you should decide a cutoff date after which you must inform VO about your pregnancy.

i,m very thankfull for the members for answering my query but i,m still confused.
Hi,

If you are confused, about being able to travel or not, then you need to make this decision based on your own health.

If the confusion is about informing CIC about your pregnancy, then there is absolutely nothing for you to worry about. You do not at any stage need to inform CIC (you have to inform the DMP) about being pregnant, unless that pregnancy impacts your ability to travel within the stipulated expiry date of the visa or you prefer to delay visa issuance (may require you to under go medicals again, if they expire).

You MUST inform CIC immediately, if a child is born before you land (this is true for any stage of the application process).

Preemptively informing CIC about being pregnant is neither going to help or hurt your case as far as the visa issuance for the new born is concerned. At any stage you if you feel that you will no longer be able to travel even if you got the visa, you can then inform CIC to hold your visa till after the baby is born. You can inform CIC of the child birth even after you have your visas (but definitely before you land).

I have a question if it can be answered. I am expecting my new born in the first week of december. Assuming we get our visas before that, we were planning to initiate the process for the baby (like informing cic, sending his pp, waiting for his medical....) and leave for Canada without him as our parents can take care of the remaining process. Later we can return n take back our baby, however, I read on this thread that alongwith baby's pp, we will also have to return our pp's. Is that true? In that case, we would not be able to leave as planned. And what would they need our passports for? Second question, would we need to obtain the pcc again, we had a hard time getting it last time. Thanks.

Hi,

What you are planning won't work. If you inform CIC about the baby, you cannot travel (or rather land) until the baby is also included on your application. If you want to do this, you have to leave the baby behind and later sponsor the baby (I would not advise this, as you will have to meet certain criteria and then wait maybe even several years till you get the baby's visa).

Don't know at what stage your application is at, but you may consider:
1. Having the baby in Canada, if visa is expected any day now. Any province apart from Ontario and BC will give you health coverage as soon as you land.

2. If visa will take time, then inform your VO to hold your visas till after the baby is born.

Unfortunelty, you may be asked to resubmit the PCC if this process drags a bit. May I ask why you had trouble with the PCC, as I believe the other members from India had no difficulty in this.
