Hi. I hope some senior members can give me their opinion on this matter.
I'm October applicant. I was requested to ask for an ARC on may 1st, it was received at VO on may 5th and got passport request on May 8th.
Along with passport request I got letter that doesn't exactly say I was approved but said things like: "the processing of your application for PR in Canada is ALMOST COMPLETE", "Before a visa can be issued we require the following: Original passport for each APPROVED APPLICANT", "Your visa will expire on 2015/08/19", "Please note that you MUST TRAVEL to Canada within the validity of your visa".
It's been 7weeks since I sent passport, and my VO usually takes 2 weeks to return passports. Even VO told me they could take up to 3 weeks in returning it.
So yes I'm panicking....I understand the ARC would take some time to be filed but do you think this waiting is normal? Could I still be refused after they have given me a date to land? I tried contacting them and they replied telling me to just be patient. Should I insist again? Should I keep making plans (quit job, rent my apartment, sell car and furniture, etc) as if I'm going to land in August as specified by CIC or should I just wait as I might be refused?
I'm so confused, depressed and really don't know what to do. 7week is just a lot and I don't think it's normal at all.
Pls help. Thanks

Really? There isn´t anybody who can help by giving their opinion on what you think might be happening?
No senior member that can help in givng a comment? Really?
What I simply want to ask is, CIC would not be so bad and mean to ask me to send my passport and say my visa will expire on august 19th and I need to land before that date if they were going to refuse it after all, right?
Would it help to ask for notes or maybe contact them again?
May 12th they received Passport and haven´t gotten it back yet.
Last communication we had was monday june 15th when they told me to be patient and that application was still in finalization process.

Calm down. This is a voluntary forum.
Also, you can check the Mexico thread for a clear idea.

Take it easy there. First of all, your post was on Canada Day. A lot of people in Canada would not have been at a computer to answer questions. Second of all, you've got a very particular set of unusual circumstances and you're dealing with a relatively less-used visa office. That means you're less likely to find someone with relevant knowledge and experience. Thirdly, you do know that none of us get paid for this right? None of us are obligated to assist and there is zero compensation for doing it. Giving attitude to the people whose help you want is not the best way to proceed.

Thank you to both of you.
The thing is, VO (as I stated on my original post) takes two weeks normally in returning Passports, mine is getting close to 8 weeks now.
So no one at the Mexico thread has any idea what might be happening and apparently Im the only applicant in that thread who has gone through this. It is very frustrating and kind of unbelievable. I am obsessed checking Ecas every hour, it is affecting me in a very bad way. Yes I am desperate beccuse after PPR I thought I would have visa in 2-3 weeks and it´s almost two months without it.
That´s why I am trying to get an answer or opinion from senior members.
I know no one here gets paid, I would pay anyone if I could just to hear an opinion.
If you can help that´s fine and I appreciate, if you can´t then that´s ok too.
Thank you again.
