Getting a draft from my bank is going to take time and I cannot take a chance to wait that long to mail the appl. I am going to use my credit card as a form of payment.

Could you please tell me what I must ensure, what should I instruct my bank so the payment goes thru when CIC charges and the card is not declined.
My card is from India. Pls help!!

Same is my situation but i am still skipping Credit Card option coz these days Banks have already/introducing a feature to Enter Password or generate and enter password or Enter PIN after filling Credit Card details... for which CIC may want to return to us causing cancellation/delay.

There is no option for putting password there in form as well. Better have Demand Draft

You can pay it. BUT, the issue is, most of the debit / credit companies in Pakistan / India does not allow the transaction that are beyond the limit, for example, 50,000 Rs. Few times, they just block the transaction that are coming without billing address (as CIC Does not ask for billing address in Payment form), and few other reasons. So, Its better to use DD. I was very sure to use my Card for the process, but than skipped it, and now going for DD on Monday. Why take minor risks when a greater advantage lies ahead.

Thanks guys, gives me some relief. I will get a draft to be safe. I am planning to go to ICIC bank, is there a way we could expedite this? I guess they take atleast 2 days at the best.

Try to get the DD done from a Bank that is truly multi-national, having presence both in India & Canada.

HSBC is in India as well as in Canada. So, if you issue a draft from HSBC India, it will easily be accepted by HSBC Canada. Same goes for CITIBANK NA.

I shall suggest you avoid Foreign Currency DD from local banks.

Try any bank DD that is present in Canada, like CITIBANK NA, HSBC, as there is lesser hassle involved for payment send/receive from you to CIC.

I did mine through Standard Chartered Bank & never had any trouble.
