HiHi,

I am a Canadian Citizen and have sponsored my parents to immigrate to Canada. Sponsorship has been approved in early 2007 and now parents' immigration application case is "in-process".

I have moved to US and working with TN Visa there since the end of 2007, and hoping to declare non-residency in Canada for tax-saving purpose, however, don't know whether this would cause any negative impact on my parents' immigration application case?

Please kindly help and advise. Any info is highly appreciated! Thank you!

Best Regards,
CAUSWZ

To sponsor your parent or grandparent, you must be living in Canada.

At ANY point up until PR is approved and parents get visas, CIC can ask you to provide them with an update on your income or residency information.

If CIC at any time during application processing, learns that you are no longer residing in Canada, or you no longer meet income requirements, then your parents application will simply be cancelled and you'll need to re-apply after you move back to Canada
