I checked on the status of my money order this morning and they said it was submitted for payment on Friday 7/9. So they've started processing my prints from what I understand of reading posts here.

I mailed it the 19th, and they rcv'd it the 21st.

So that's exactly 7 weeks from receipt before they processed your payment. Please let us know when you receive the clearance. Are they mailing it to you in Canada or are you in the States?

Your right, exactly 7 weeks.

Will do, I'm in the states. I had asked for it to be done by the end of June also - but I didn't expect that it would be. Figured it never hurt.
They said it was submitted, but not yet cashed, so I am assuming that perhaps today or tomorrow it'd 'clear'. As soon as I get that message from Money Gram I will ring the FBI to see if they give me an update.

They rec'd my hubby's May 17th.

We rec'd his back with a date of July 6th on it on Friday and then they shipped it on July 8th using the prepaid overnight shipping envelope we paid for and included when we sent it.

7 weeks and 4 days to receive it back in our hands total.

So it seems 7 weeks is their turn around and then mailing time.

I wish I'd thought to do that and that their times were more specific. I might have waited a week if I thought it was coming, lol. Well probably not. I am thinking there is no issue/trouble with the certificate being sent after the application was submitted.

wow - 7 weeks? that's awesome. if that holds up, I should be able to call to get info next week - assuming I get a nicer lady than last time! I sent a certified check, so the money came out of my account when the check was issued. If i had to do it again, I would send a money order, so I could see when it was processed.

I'm also a little nervous that instead of "Treasury Dept" the bank teller made the check out to "US Dept. of Treasury"....I'm so hoping those arent' two different places!!

I agree w/ 7weeks..that's what happened for me with the 1st try. They cashed the money order exactly at 7 weeks post arriving and 3 days after that the mail arrived to my house.

This Friday is going to be the 6 week mark for my print #2 and #3...I hope those prints will "stick". Good luck to all of us.

Awesome, hopefully I hear some good news this week yet then.
I hope one of those were good for you. I am so scared of them being bad.

My big worry is that I am in Canada and the officer at the police station who did my prints would not do them on the FBI card I had printed - on cardstock and in colour - from the FBI website. He insisted on using his form - which is the one they use for ink prints for the RCMP. I just hope the FBI will accept the prints on the RCMP form - has anybody else had to do this? I can't go back to the States to get prints on an FBI card as I, for sure, would not be readmitted to Canada . . . plus, I'm on "implied status" right now, which is what allows me to keep working. If I leave Canada, I lose my implied status and then I'd be working illegally. Sure hope they won't insist on the FBI card for the prints.

I guess if it's refused, my only option would be to get the paperwork I'd need from Buffalo to get an FBI clearance done digitally through Commissionaires. But they are really expensive, and won't do it without "official" paperwork.

My hubby got his done on his local police department's card stock. Not the FBI one that he had printed out. So I would not worry about that at all.

On the CJIS website, they mention that they accept cardstock from other places. Mine was from an actual crime lab, it looked just like CJIS's but had their stamp on it instead.

I'm going to agree with everyone above about 7 weeks being the turnaround time... but not for everyone. It seems (could be wrong) but only those of us with prior rejections are seeing 7 weeks. I was told by a nice man on their end that after being rejected, your time is sped up and the process is only 7-8 weeks instead of 10-12.

I'm at 7 weeks and... 6 days? Maybe 8 weeks now. I hope to be recieving it soon... and I hope so desperately it's the actual clearance and not another rejected letter. I don't know what I'll do. Move to England maybe ;)

My first print was rejected and they had me send another one to a different address (well the same address but different department or w/e it is called)...does it mean they will get to my print faster than the others?? I am wondering or does it mean nothing? Anyone knows?

The money order shows cashed when I called this morning, it was cashed on 7/9 - Friday. The 7 week date. It was my first submitted prints.
Going to ring the FBI this afternoon.

excellent!! man, I wish I had done a money order so I could track it better...

I am going to call next week!

Crossing my fingers that your prints were accepted!

MY FINGERPRINTS WERE ACCEPTED!!!!!! After 8 months of waiting and 2 rejected prints... I can't even believe it. I cried on and off all day today with tears of joy for the first time. I can finally mail out the application that should have been approved already it's been so long.

Thank you for all of you who've prayed and kept your fingers crossed for me. ;D ;D ;D
