hi i am from ontario i recently became a permanent resident under common law sponsorship, now i want to sponsor my son in the philippine which is under 18 years old. is there any minimum income requirement i need to sponsor him? please help. thank you

There's no minimum income requirement. I assume your son was included as a non-accompanying dependent in your PR common law application and went through the medical process. If so, you are good to sponsor him.

Minimum Necessary Income is not required.

You declared your son as a dependent in your application for PR sponsorship right?
If not, you have misrepresented and can never sponsor your child and you will also receive a removal order.

If you declare him then its all good.

Yes I did declared as non accompanying dependent child. so i dont need any minimum income? thank you helps a lot. But one more thing what if the father of my child have long gone he have abandoned us since my son was 4 yeas old he is now turning 9. And the father and I have been separated since then. What should i do coz there is a form that the other parent needs to sign as a consent for my son migrating here in Canada? Please help thank you.

"If you are unable to provide documents showing that your other parent has no objection yo your immigration, you must provide a detailed explanation."

Try your best and find the father to sign it, if you cannot do that then provide a very detailed explanation why.

Canada is a signatory to the Hague Convention, which deals with international parental kidnapping. IRCC needs proof that the parent has either legal permission from the other parent or full legal custody for the child to immigrate. Otherwise, they violate the Convention.

This is very correct and CIC will be firm about this. You will need a court order declaring you as the sole parent in all areas.

She does not need a court order , all she need is to get
the father to sign the consent form

It's assumed that getting the father's signature isn't an option, since he's been out of their lives for 5 years. If she can get the father's signature, that's definitely the best option; if not, she's going to need legal proof of full custody.

Per the OP, father's signature isn't available.

what do you mean?

Your earlier post indicated that it wasn't possible to get the father's signature - is that correct?

If so, then you will need to go through the court system in your home country to obtain a court order declaring you as the sole parent before you can sponsor your child.
