Hi,

I recently applied for citizenship and after my interview with the immigration officer, CIC sent a letter accusing me of marriage fraud. The reason is because we separated after 4 months of me getting my PR.

Now they asked me to send proof that marriage was genuine. I don't know what to send. If you guys can help, it would be much appreciated.

Were you subject to condional PR through a sponsorship by your spouse, or did you come as a dependant in an economic immigration?

No he sponsored me here and it's not conditional. I applied for citizenship and had my exam. During the interview the officer questioned me about the seperation. I didn't go into details about why we separated but now I'm assuming she flagged my case.
My ex was bipolar and I had endured a lot of abuse. I just couldn't stay in the marriage anymore but not sure how I can prove it to immigration.

I would provide as much evidence as you can from before you came to Canada that shows your relationship was real. Did you travel together? Do you have photos or flight tickets? I would show as many communications as you can that pre-date your arrival in Canada to prove you were communicating like a normal couple (i.e. frequently and regularly). What about your wedding? Do you have photos? Was it large and attended by many people? How did you meet? Did you date a long time before getting married? Did you try any counseling to address your marriage issues once you were in Canada? Do you have emails or voice mails that show the abuse you were suffering? Four months after arriving in Canada is a very fast break-up, so you'll want to provide at least some minimal evidence of why.

Send your marriage vedio or all pictures

CIC doesn't look at videos. No point sending one.

Share all your photographs. If you faced abuse during your marriage, did you visit the GP? Your GP notes could help you build a case why you separated.

Besides of what was mentioned, it might be a good time to hire an immigration lawyer

Thank you all for your replies. I've sent all the documents I had available. Pictures, conversations and notes from my doctor and our marriage counselor.
