I submitted my application last August 12, 2014, my work permit expired Sept 10, 2014 . I am under Temporary Resident Visa until December 12, 2014. Until now I haven't receive confirmation from CIC. What shall I do? I have only one month left of my Temporary Resident Visa??? Please help.....tnx much!!!

Did you apply for permanent residence? If yes did you not submit an application for BOWP?

I did!!! It was denied cause I don't have confirmation yet from CIC on my CEC so I applied for TRV good for 3 mos.

Unless you can find an employer with a LMIA or willing to apply for a LMIA I don't see any option for you but to leave Canada after the expiry of your TRV.

Did you send a paper application for BOWP or did you apply online?

One option you can consider is to get a student visa that will allow you to work 20 hours a week too. However, the fee would be ~14000 per year.

thank you all for your reply... another input please.... CIC already billed in my credit card my application last October 15,2014 but no confirmation email yet from them...what shall I do? tnx much

you should be getting AOR soon...it looks like August 12 applicants are getting AOR now...you still have one month..sit tight..according to stats you should get AOR within week..

So if you get AOR once your WP expires and application for BOWP is rejected because of no AOR - you can apply again for BOWP?

Does a valid TRV alone allow you to remain in the country. I thought you had to have a valid Visitor, Student or work permit to remain in the country?

Well as per call centre agents we can apply for restoration of status and along with that send an application for BOWP.. But most likely it will be rejected.. I don't know a case where BOWP was issued after WP had expired.

^ this is perhaps the safest route for your right now.. Atleast get an admission letter from college and arrange for bank statements.

Thank you again for all your input guys....so most likely I cannot acquire new work permit ??? If worst scenario...I will go home...is my application still on going? Tnx again...

You can't get BOWP as your current WP has already expired. To get CWP, you will need LMIA, which could take forever.

I was in similar situation with you about a year ago. Applied for CEC in October 2013 & AOR received in mid Nov 2013. LMIA took forever then work permit got refused soon after. Applied restoration of status for work permit, then got refused in mid Feb 2014. And then, I went back to my country late Feb 2014, for slightly more than a month to restore my status as visitor (the process took few days only to get approval). The visitor status expired in 6-9 months i think.

Then I came back here in early April 2014 got MR immediately within 2 weeks. Got ready for Visa in May 2014 then came back home to my country for another errand, came back in July 2014 to land as a PR. I answered all questions honestly during the landing, and it took me only 5 minutes before I got my status. It was very smooth indeed!

Maybe you can do the same thing as I did: go back to your country and take a break first, maybe meet your old friends and spend time with your close family. Restoring your status as a visitor should be much easier in your country, as you have taken concrete actions to show that you respect the immigration rules and not overextending your stay here in Canada. Good luck with your application...

what an "expensive" and "boring" kidding process resulted from VO's low speed. foolish policy.
