I have applied under the 2142 category for the 2013 CAP as network system engineer. unfortunately CAP has been closd before my documents reached. This year there is no 2142 category but my roles and responsibilities matches with 2281 (computer network technician) category. But my designation network system engineer is not mentioned under sample designation list of this category (2281) though my roles and responsibilities are matching with the category. So can I apply with that NOC code..... please help me....

Yes, you can apply for it. Make sure job duties mentioned in cic website, just go through and get the reference letter from your employer mentioning those duties of network technicians.

If you can satisfy at least 60-70% of the roles mentioned on the NOC from which you have the experience, you are qualified to apply.

I agree..
Make sure your application is complete, especially signatures and all forms must be dated.
As far as I know, the only original documents that you need to submit are ECA and IELTS.. The rest of the documents can be photocopies but is more okay if notarized by designated official. The documents must all be translated to English.

thanks for the reply......yes the roles and responsibilities in reference letter from my employer matches with the NOC category.. only designation not matches with the sample designation list they provided...

Its not the TITLE OF THE JOB that gives points, its the ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES that go under are counted .....ALL THE BEST !!!
