Thanks in advance for all the help, it's pretty difficult to find clear answers in this area.

So to give you some background, my girlfriend has been staying with me in Canada for the past 5 months coming up on 6 months now. She's from New Zealand staying as a visitor so the visa requirement was waived. She has already booked her flight out of the country, except that date is approximately 1 month past the 6 month expiry date. Before then, we plan on traveling down to the US for a couple of weeks and then traveling back up right before her flight. She will have overstayed by a little bit by then and I was wondering what kind of consequences we could expect, along with what would be the best measures to prevent future entry problems. Would she be denied re-entry coming back from the US? And would that length of overstay hurt her chances of coming back later on? Finally, would a sort of last minute application for an extension be possible/worth it? Let me know! Thanks :)

File a visitor extension application.
