Please Help with clarification on College Programs

Hello Everyone,

I'm applying for Business Management programs in various colleges, however, I see that some colleges have a program of 8 months duration with 2 semesters. On the other hand some have a program of 1 year with 2 semesters. Can anyone tell me whats the difference since I couldn't find any difference in the program details?

Following is an example:

1. 8 months: International Business Management (Graduate Certificate) at Seneca College
2. 1 year: Global Business Management (Graduate Certificate) at Conestoga College

It is just a matter of the colleges... like in any country, some colleges have semesters that last longer than others (4 to 6 months each semester). For Study permit purposes an academic year is a minimum of 8 months.
