Hi everyone,
I am a recent graduate student, my study permit and visa expired on Apr 30 2019. And I am going back to China after my ceremony(June 6 2019). Do I need to restore my status? I am going to travel around U.S and Canada in July and August. So I am worrying that the restoration will affect my application of visitor visa for Canada. Have anyone been in my situation before? What should I do? Thank you!
Good Luck to all of you

Where are you now? What visitor visa? You cant be in the country without valid status of some sort so if you dont dont status you need to restore to visitor status.

I am in Canada right now. I am going to apply the traveler visitor visa. I think it would be confused that I restore my study permit and apply for the traveler visa.

You are already in Canada with expired status, you cant apply for anything, you must do a restoration, you must restore to visitor now since you are no longer a student.
Restoration can take months and if you leave during it it is considered abandoned.

Thank you so much! I submitted the restoration today. Do I need to submit an application for the Visitor Visa?
