Hello all, I'm confused about what should I give as my primary occupation. I've been a software engineer since past 8 years. 6 years aboard and 2 years in Canada. Recently I've been promoted to a manager, but the offer letter I was given when joining the company was for an engineer.

So, most of my experience is as a software engineer, in the last 3 months I've been promoted to manager and work-permit is updated.

The Express entry profile asks NOC code in various places.

  1. Primary occupation (Five-digit NOC Code): This means the job [me] has experience in and wants to base the immigration application on. This is how we will determine your eligibility for federal programs. --- For this should I use software eng. NOC code or engineering manager NOC code
  2. Intended work in Canada Job offer NOC code -- For this I think I can use software engineer noc code. Or should I ask my company for a new offer letter? I doubt they would oblige
  3. NOC code of current work permit -- I think I can safely use eng. manager noc code.
Thank you for your help
