In the application schedule 1, I am asked to put down my education background. Under the Certificate Type for my high school should I put down "High School Diploma" or Accounting Technician" since I did a high school in a Vocational high school?

What does it say on the certificate, if it says accounting technicial diploma and if you are claiming points for that, i would put that down. But if you want it to be counted as a high school diploma, in your case, it sounds like you could put that down too.

In most countries, you have to do high school to enter university/college, etc. So if you are later claiming points for tertiary education, they might wonder how come you went to a tertiary institution with an accounting technician diploma, you could also explain it in a letter.

Anyway, it would be good if you provide more information, such as what it says on the certificate, whether you did some tertiary education after this diploma and are you wanting to count this diploma as diploma points under education points.

There's nothing unusual about his situation. In many countries, you can go to high school and vocational training at the same time, i.e., it's one single diploma. The advantage is that you fnish high school (age 16 or 17), and you already have a profession. And if you want, you can go to university/college, since you have completed high school.

In your educational background, you may write "Vocational high school (Accounting)", or "Technical High School Diploma (Accounting)".

I don't know how things work in your country, but in mine, a technical high school has to be accredited by the government, so the school has a license to deliver technical diplomas. You may want to send a copy of the school's license with your application, so as to show that the diploma is legally valid.

You may not, however, double count your education, if it took you 3 years to get that diploma, you cannot say "3 years high school" + "3 years technical training", since they were part of the same program.

Thanks guys. However, the space allowed to use is very small. I know this is a little thing to worry about, but what short fopr it should I use: Tech. HS, Accounting or Voc. H.S(Accounting)? Unless there is another one.

If I'm not mistaken, if the space is insufficient, you may use a separate sheet.

However, if the nameof the college or school is long or yhe space is not big enough for you to write certain information, you must use a shorter word or a simplified one. Which one above do you think would be more appropriate to use?

You can simply void the space on the form and say "refer to education sheet attached". But if you really want to use the official form, I'd suggest you go with "Tech. HS - Accounting"
