Hello All,
I am currently working in Canada since 7 months and will soon apply for PR once I complete 1 year of work experience here.
I went through the self assesment calculator and it shows 400+ points for me and my wife for our education , work exp , ielts etc etc.
What I am really am confused about is how to get the other 600 points for the LMIA and job offer.

Do I need to find a new job and new lmia ? Can I not use the existing job and lmia to get those 600 points?

Also do I need to have a permanent job in hand to apply throough express entry? Is it ok if it is 12 months job contract?

To get the extra 600 points for a "valid job offer," you need 2 things -
1) LMIA
2) Written offer of permanent, full-time employment contingent upon your obtaining permanent resident status

Note that you can also get the 600 point bonus if you can get a provincial nomination.

Existing LMIA is fine, as long as you also have an offer of permanent employment (from the same employer listed on the LMIA, of course).

You do not need a permanent job offer to apply through express entry, and yes you can apply if your experience was gained through contract employment. But you won't get the 600 pt bonus without the written offer of permanent employment.
