Hi,
I am a Live-in Caregiver. Just recently, I submitted my PR application. I have a boyfriend here in my province and he is a temporary foreign worker too. We see each other on the weekends and days off. Now, we planned to get married and eventually got married prior to sending my PR application. Now, as we think it may take longer if I include him on my application, I put SINGLE as my status in my application. (He is about to send his Federal Skilled application in January 2012 and he will put SINGLE as his status too in his application.)

Can that decision affect his or my application? Please advise us on what to do.. Thank you

Yes - that's a big problem. Saying your single on an application when you're actually married is misrepresentation (lying). If caught, your applications will be denied and you could end up with a two year ban from Canada (as a penalty for the misrepresentation).

I would withdraw your application immediately and re-submit as married.

you have to seek expert advise...since you are both married,,anyone of you has to apply as the principal applicant..i strongly recommend u need consultation before he applies for him/her to explain and to make everything clear to you about what you did, and what u must do...dont let him submit his application w/out an advise..
