No such things as sponsorship for a visa. If you are military then it can take a very long time for review and a response. Hopefully you will get an answer soon. Nothing to do but wait.

The terminology on application does not actually mean this is actually a sponsorship. You can’t actually sponsor someone for a visit. You can invite someone to visit with an invitation letter.
