Hi,

We are planning to move to Canada. I really need some help about Mississauga city . I've been reading lot of sites and friends are giving lot of suggestions. This forum have been helping me right from the beginning. I would really appreciate any sort of suggestions from the members. We are planning to move to Ontario province Mississauga city. we are not sure if this a good choice for a beginning. We are planning to move with the family. Plz do share any info abt this city like how is the cost of living, apartments, schools, Indian community, weather......

Smilekumar,

Mississauga is a place you can come to live:

These are the things for which I decided to come to this specific city:

20 minutes from the International Airport
An hour and a half from the United States
Good place to raise children (Safe, Education, neighbourhood)
One of the most successful cities within Canada
Business friendly Community
Good public and private schools.

Good jobs are a bit difficult as every year we have 35,000 people coming to the city. The city is very attractive...

But it depends on the person view: If you happen to have family ties, financial sources, and a profession in demand, you shouldn't have any problem coming to Mississauga.

I love the city!!!

Your kids would get to join the neighborhood school -- every neighborhood has it's schools... this is not a deciding factor for choosing a locality.

A 2BR condo would cost u around 1200-1800/month depending on the locale & quality/amenities.

Smilekumar,

Whenever you have a chance, visit this link as it will show you the weather stadistics (Mississauga).

http://www.theweathernetwork.com/statistics/CL6158733/caon0441?ref=topnav_historical_statistics

So far, the weather has been terrific.. The average for december 2011 has been 2.9 C which is above the normal for any december.

BTW, Qorax is right that schools shouldn't be the decisive factor when moving to any place. For example, if you belong to the Mining sector, Alberta and British Columbia are better places to go.

Good luck and feel to contact us for any other info...

Greetings

Yes - you can provide a Mississauga address.

Zafari,

That is not a problem as Mississauga is part of GTA: I had Richmond Hill in my form and came to Mississauga.

The Greater Toronto Area (GTA) is the largest metropolitan area in Canada, with a 2006 census population of 5.5 million. The Greater Toronto Area is usually defined as the central city of Toronto, along with four regional municipalities surrounding it: Durham, Halton, Peel, and York.[2] The area is at the centre of the Golden Horseshoe urban agglomeration, which contains approximately one-fourth of the population of Canada.

Greetings
