Plan B

In the light of the recent post about refusal after AIP, I was thinking about plan B

So, let's imagine I start my 2 year program online with AIP, and during first semester get refused. I'll still earn my credits, alright.

Then, if I apply for the same program and a new SP again, that means I'll skip first sem, so basically my program will be 1,5 years.
Would I still be eligible for PGWP and would it be 3 years or 1,5 years?

Assuming the university allows you to keep those credits and you are later approved for a SP, you could get a lawyer and make your case, but it'd probably be up to the discretion of the individual visa officer to decide whether you meet the requirements.
