I am staying in Us on h1b.We did our softlanding in 2021 Oct. We live in US. Our aim is to get citizenship, for which I need to stay in Canada 3/5 years. So would like to get some experience how people are doing that?
I know people are staying in border cities and crossing daily to US on h1b. By doing that any issue will occur for citizenship? Are they doing only last 3 yrs out of 5? Please share your experience. @harirajmohan

1. Per requirement, commuting doesnt affect the eligibility. Lot are doing it for years and many received citizenship without any problem. There might be delay of few months for few cases but cant avoid it(as its better than looking for new job in Canada for same salary hence few months delay is nothing compare to the pain of moving completely without a job).
2. Yes and No. Some do stay only for eligibility period and some move out after that and get the application processing continued and go back to Canada for test/interview/oath.

So you dont need to move completely without a job or move to Canada with some job. If you have option to move to border location and commute then do that.
