Hello! Am a nurse myself working on getting my license here in Canada and same time sponsoring my hubby from Philippines. Allnurses.com re:international nursing is a must check-out to get some ideas on how to apply for canadian nursing licensure. Also, every province has it's own licensing body kaya dapat check it out too. SRNA (Saskatchewan) and CARNA (Alberta) just to name a few. There's a lot of infos frome their websites that we IENs (internationally educated nurses) can use. Assessment for IENs takes a long time, i meant a loooonnng time, kaya even if you guys are still in Philippines or wherever, start getting your papers assessed na. Then waiting time won't be too long once landed in Canada. English exams: you can do IELTS or CELBAN ( there are other options too, just can't remember all of it). Although CELBAN is only offered in Canada, however it's far easier than IELTS in my opinion and it relates to our profession (nurse).Hope it helps. :)

If matagalan process nila, k lang yun...di pa naman ako ready to take CRNE. hehehe. Then ang negosyo...etc. What if pumasa ako sa CRNE (sakali lang, hehe)...pwede ako mag nurse agad, kahit "no how" talaga ako sa ospital? So, parang di na rin advisable mag volunteer nurse pa ako dito (actually tamad ako mag volunteer...parang di kasi nakakamotivate mag work pag wala sweldo, haha).

@pinaynurse : Edm berta ako sis. Im guessing we differ in the prepartion as IEN, musta ang rqmnts ng saskatoon sa IELTS?

@RDQ thank u for the info. Yes, that is what my husband told me he even gave me an example abt the celban.. Not that im confident but at least celban really just talks abt whatever we studied in nursing, unlike in IELTS its aything under the sun. I hope i can pass the ielts soon so i can work on the preparation for carna,so when we land we'll just gonna have to wait few mos.

sa saskatoon, 7.5-8 ang listening...the rest, 6.5-7...pwede...overall score, 7....pero if you come to think about it, parang, 7 in all, except listening which is 7.5 or 8. SOBRANG TAAS.
