Hi,

I have a question:
I am in a relationship over 2 years and I wonder how many and what kind of photos they want from us? for application Common-Law!
And I would like to put 6 on one page in a word document with date and description ... would this be okay or do they want a special form???

I hope to get everything done this month! I have to!
:)

for a relationship of two years i would put more. Mix them up, and preferably date and show progression of relationship. They like to see on going and continuous relationship. So probably start with your earliest up until your most recent. Describe, and date photos too. Some people have used word documents to print photos. i personally just printed out and scanned, then labelled them. I think we sent about 30. But its more about content, and quality, than quantity :) ..good luck

Six on a page with descriptions is fine.
Get photos from the beginning to now in your relationship. Get photos from different places and with you wearing different clothes - you don't want them to think all the photos were taken the same day. Photos with one or both of you with each other's family and friends are good. Try to get some photos that are not posed - for example, someone took a photo at a party and you two were in it. This looks more natural.
Number depends - an applicant from the first world and where there are no red flags in the relationship needs fewer photos. I'd say 30 as a minimum; more if there are issues in the relationship.

How do you prove the date on the pictures though?
You don't. We sent in real prints. Also with no way to prove the date of each photo. We sent in 60.

you really cant, but we dated ours since we had been using digital camera, and some we just estimated the month and year. Obviously the CIC officers are trained and can tell if its fake. Photos taken over time show different seasons(summer, winter etc), night or day, different clothing or hair styles. Maybe looking slimmer or bigger. These are just examples, but point is it shows you are truthfully together over time. Dont worry about it too much. Just collect what you can

I was sponsored by my common-law partner. I organized all the documents. I included 40 pictures in the application. I put caption at the back of each photos, like who, what, when, where.

What I did, I took pictures from all the trips we took together, also from when we met each other family members. I printed all the pictures, wrote at the back where, when and who was in the pictures. I went a step further and place the picture in order of the beginning of our relationship from when we were friends, then dating, engagement, wedding etc
