Hello everyone,
I just used the residency calculator tool to find out if I am eligible to apply for citizenship. Here is a break down of what it says, I have 1009 days of physical presence and according to the criteria I should only need 90 more days (3 months) of physical presence to apply for citizenship. However, on the top of the page it states that I will be eligible on 18-nov-2015.
Can anyone please help.

You need three years of residency in Canada in the last four years before you apply to qualify. This 4 years is rolling - meaning that as you gain days at the front you also lose days at the back (including residency days you were previously counting towards the 1095 total). I suspect what has happened is that every time you gain a few days of residency you also lose a few days of residency you were previously counting. It also sounds like you have more than a year of absences in the last four years. This means you have to wait until some of these absences drop off before you will gain enough residency days to apply.

did you get PR 2 year ago? do you have Pre PR time in your calculation? your pre pr days are counted as half days and if you travel or outside Canada for 6 months after PR then technically you have to wait 1 years after actual 2 year of being Permanent Resident. do not apply before 1095 days. if online calculator says you will be eligible after 18 nov 2015 then wait.
