What specifications are required for digital photos to upload ?

On some forums its 45*35mm and on some its 50*70 mm

For eAPR submission it is 35mm x 45mm.

35mm by 45mm is the photo spec for the digital picture to be uploaded during CIC ITA stage.

50mm by 70mm is the specifications for the photo print out to be submitted to the visa office when you receive Passport Request (PPR).

Both have to be in white background. To be sure, have the photo taken by a studio who has done Canadian Visa photos (they'll know the other details so you don't need to worry about them)

Is light grey background accepted?

They have not mentioned about the background in the instructions next to digital upload photo placeholder, so I believe it should be fine. However, If you have not yet got the photo clicked, get it on a white background, or the photographer can digitally make the background white.

The digital photo is "at least" 45 by 35 mm therefore 50 by 70 mm is also fine as long as it is "at least" 420 by 540 pixels. I got my photo professionally taken but it had less pixels therefore, I had to get it retaken....so u might want to mention this.

always refer the official CIC website not a forum

For PR applications

For citizenship a different spec

I agree but the issue is digital specifications are not mentioned on the website and they become visible when u reach the stage to upload photos....

I have no idea about pixel size.... just went to the photgrapher and gave him the instruction sheet thats on cic for permanent resident picture.

Right click photo goto settings, click details....the pixel size should be there.
I only intend to make sure u pay attention to pixel size along with other specifications such as face size from crown to chin ........plz make sure everything is accurate.

Upload it, it is valid even i uploaded same size and have no problem but it must be white background
