phone call from accra embassy to remind me of interveiw

hello guys my interveiw is on 1-02-2011, i have received the email the embassy sent to me, and my husband has also received the physical mail the embassy sent to him, last year december 2010, i just got a call form accra embassy today this afternoon, it was a male voice, he said he was calling to remind me of my interveiw on the 1-02-2011,and if i got my interveiw letter i said yes, i did and he said ok, i told him thanks and he should have a nice day and he said the same. guys does it really mean anything i was suprised.

It doesn't mean anything, they are just confirming. You've had the letter for quite awhile, yes? Perhaps they've had some issues with no-shows lately.

BTW, my husband only got the letter via email from Accra. He never received one in the post, nor did I in Canada, even though they said they sent two letters via post.

Best of luck to you on Tuesday! Don't be nervous, you are going to be fine, and will be coming home with your visa that day!

Im trying to help my friend out who is about to send application for sponsorship for her husband in Ghana she met him while working there as a volunteer, she lived there for 1 year. Richie4u can you tell me your timeline for Accra, Ghana. Website says average 22 months that seem so so long but bobshynoswife timeline looks like 6 months. bobshynoswife is there any secret to how your application went through so fast at ACCRA? Any helpful info is greatly appreciated. Ive already been through this process as I sponsored my husband from Egypt but every country differs.

bobshynoswife was finished in, I believe 98 days...probably a record for Accra If memory serves, she submitted about 600 pages of hard proof. The best advice is always to provide as much solid proof as you can and double-check EVERYTHING before you submit. Also, if you are able to pay all your fees up front, that will save you about a month of delays at the end. Accra seems to be getting more efficient in their processing - hope yours is speedy too!

hi egyptlover2010, my timeline was two weeks it was so amazing, we had lot of proof, i was suprised when they sent me the email for my interveiw you can see some of my post, well i thank God for it because i was thinking 22months and we got two weeks, we submitted on october 13 2010 to cic, my husband was approved on november 15 2010, and ecas said in process on november 15 2010, and i got email from accra embassy for interveiw on november 26 2010, to come for my interveiw on 1 feb 2011. i think enough proof will make your application move fast. i hope i get my visa same day.

I did send in a huge application with 400 pages of communication evidence as well as 250 photos. However, I think it was our circumstances that helped more than anything. When we met and throughout our dating life, my husband lived in London, not Nigeria. I was able to visit him 7 times, which strengthens the application quite a bit. Plus, he could have married a british woman at any time an stayed in UK, so it shows less desperation to marry a Canadian on his part. We chose to have Accra process the application over London because we knew he would be treated fairly in Accra, wheres London puts foreigners through a really difficult time.

Also, he's very smart and has perfect English with a more british than African accent, and is also very personable, which probably helped at the interview.

Sorry it's not much help for your friend - just make sure that they cross all t's and dot all i's and submit as much evidence as possible!
