Hello guys,

I have been granted a PHD fund of 21,000 CAD yearly from university in Quebec. I have bank account of 8,500 CAD. And the whole university tuition fees for the whole program is 13000. I applied for visa and get refused for insufficient fund. So where is the problem? .. I tried to consult an immigration counsler and he told me that the PHD fund need to be stamped from university. Is that true ?

For the whole program - for 5 years?
Tuition is not covered?

I provided a LOA where it said I would receive a stipend, and my tuition fees are covered

The program is 4 years .. with my stipend mentioned in the letter of financial support from my professor it will cover the living and the tuitition .. what i put in my bank account i thought it would be extra

So your letter of acceptance mentioned that you will receive a stipened ? So did u ask ur professor to include his stipend in the letter of acceptance or the university did it automatically ?

Sorry i dont know how that works as i have letter of acceptance alone mentioning the tuition only not the stipend and another letter from my professor mentions the stipend but not stamped from the university

If your professor had written another letter of funding, if it had the letterhead of the university and was signed by him or the head of the department, I don't think that would be a problem. I guess you should show some more funds.
