I'm german, inscribed at an austrian university and planning a stay of approx. 6 months in Ontario, on a PhD exchange program. My status is called PhD student, but the stay is compensated by the canadian university with 14k CAD. Does this count as "working on the campus", or do I only need a study permit? (do I need one at all, if it's <6months?).
Additionally, my girlfriend wants to accompany me. She won't study or work anything, just stay with me for 6 months. Is she in need of a visitor visa or anything similar? (Also a german citizen).
