Hi Team,

MY PGWP has been extended 1 time for one year. It is now expiring next year(2024). Wanted to check if my Work permit can be extended again next year?

At this point, no. The government would have to announce a new extension and you would have to be eligible since you are no longer on a PGWP but extended work permit.

PGWP was never meant to be extended, but in 2022 and 2023, Canada allowed this to happen.
In 2023, the folks was benefited from the 2022 extension was eligible again as long as their first PGWP expired after September 20, 2021.
If your PGWP expires after December 31, 2023, there's currently no way to extend; and I don't know if IRCC is planning something similar or not.

Hopefully by now you have 1+ years of experience in Canada, so I highly suggest looking into PR options (if you intended to live here) or get another type of work permit.

Thank you!!. Is there any other type of work permit?. I have applied for PR but waiting for ITA. my first ITA got rejected.

If you can get a job offer supported by an approved LMIA, then you can switch to a closed work permit.
