Hello,

I got my PGWP on Feb 15, 2023 (Applied Sep 6th, 2022) and an officer made a mistake when processing my application.
I submitted 2 passports:
1st one is going to expire on 15/07/2024, but I have my student visa there.
2nd one is the new one, which I purposely got to get my PGWP for full 3 years(I completed 4-year program)
With these passports, I also attached a letter of explanation, which stated the above. And in every document I submitted I used my NEW passport's number.

My PGWP was approved based on my old passport....which means it will expire on 15/07/2024.
Can I apply for amendment in this case? What can I do in this case?
Any help would be appreciated.

Usually new passports are taken into consideration only if you have less than 6 months on current passport.

If you want you can ask for amendment but I am not sure if that will work

Good LUck

My wife had a similar case when we entered Canada with a passport expiring in 8 months and a newer one she renewed before traveling. She got her SOWP based on her soon to expire passport at the airport, but the officer advised to request an extension a few months before the passport and the work permit expired. We submitted that application using the new passport and explaining the whole situation in a letter. She got her new work permit approved.
