PGWP issue

Public college in Ontario offers some sort of 2 in 1 course. 1 - 3 semesters 2 - 1 semester.

The 2nd course requires the 1st one and there's a break in between because the 2nd course can only start in January and the first course ends in August.

Things were going alright before and international students were able to get their PGWP without any issues. Since the combination of both programs takes 4 semesters to be completed, students were able to get 2-3 years work permit

A couple days ago roughly 20 students from this program got their PGWP rejected. The 2nd course was totally ignored by immigration agents and the reason why their work permits were refused was:

They should've applied for PGWP within 90 days after completing the 1st program. (since the 2nd course was totally ignored by the immigration) How so?

CIC approved their visas for 2 years based on this 2 in 1 course and apparently students are now struggling with PGWP issues because of the same 2 in 1 course.

Institution Saint Claire college
Courses :
1 - International Business Management
2 - Freight Forwarding & Logistics

Has anyone seen anything like that before ?any comments at all?

Looks like the program in logistics is only one semester. That is likely the issue. Program should be over 8 months (2 semesters). Would speak to your college and whoever advised you to take that course.

It is very true but since begining this progrms works on this way and fact is that lot of students from the same class is getting approvals as well. Which is very unfair to other students.st clair college is really showing poor response on this matter they went to see football match while student was waiting for reply and entire college staff is not answering responsibly on this critical situation and almost every student's status is expiring on 30th july 2018 which is key hurdles for student
And students are completely helpless if anybody found way to resolve this issue please keep posting on this page. College is playing with international student's future please help

Hi there,

Students are being helped by both an immigration lawyer and Saint Claire college.
Despite that, we haven't received any good news yet which means that those students who got their pgwp refused are still struggling with the issue.

Students are not being helped by college at all and they are lying on CTV by saying that they are part of college family.they were not answering till lawyer came to help the student.this is my personal request not to choose st.clair college for any programs ,staff is very irresponsible and arrogant
students are still struggling to hear appropriate answers from government and college. please keep posting for help thanks

What is lawyer saying, does he think they can they win an appeal?
Because by strict reading of the rules it appears they are correctly denied and that is the only standard officers have to follow.

it is the case of fairness and equality. In the same class peers have got their approvals while on the otherside there are rejections which is unfair to student they followed what they are instructed to.
