PGWP Extension - PGWP Expiring next month

Hello Everyone,

I applied PGWP extension mid June (because my earlier work permit was only given for 2 years) through paper application.

My current work permit expires by mid August.

My company HR told me that they received an email saying my SIN is expiring next month middle August. I said that I expect the response to my work permit extension to be by October and I will be in implied status till that time.

Is there any way I can follow up with CIC regarding my status of my work permit application ?

I tried to link my paper application to online account but to no avail.

I called IRCC. She could not find my application. Looks like they have not opened my paper application till now. Not sure why paper application are preferred in this dan age.

The SIN is linked to the validity of your current work permit, it expires the same date. It might take another 2 months until they start to work on your application the processing time now is 120 days
