PGWP extension (on passport expiry)

Hello,

Could someone please help me with PGWP extension (due to passport expiry)? I obtained my PGWP last year and since I did my graduate studies in Canada, my PGWP was supposed to expire in 3 years. However as my passport neared expiry then, I was given a PGWP for about 2 years.

I have now renewed my passport (Indian passport) and also split my name into given name and last name (combined given and last names is a common thing in Indian passports).

So for a PGWP extension (for maximum of 3 years),
1) Do I apply online or can it only be done on paper? I have read a few posts saying that it is only paper-based. It seems like very few have done it online as well. Could it be done online?

2) As I split my name (not changed), how do I about this on my future IRCC applications? Would I have to use the name on my old passport (First and last name together) in the "Have you used any other name" field on the applications?

Any help with either or both these queries will be appreciated.

Thank you,
