I was reading "How your PGWPP eligibility is affected" on the IRCC website and I came across this:

"complete up to 50% of your program online (until April 30, 2021) if you complete the other 50% of your program in Canada"

I had just started my first year online and I still haven't received my study permit. Although, I did apply for it before the Fall 2020 semester had begun. Does the statement above mean that I have to arrive in Canada before April 30, 2021 to be considered eligible or can I wait till next school year (Fall 2021) to arrive since I will still be studying less than 50% of my program online?

Thank you very much in advance!

You can wait until fall as what matters is that you complete at least 50% of your classes in Canada.

Does anyone know how the “in Canada” component of the PGWP is calculated. Website says for programs over 12 months, courses completed in Canada shall be atleast 50%. It explicitly mentions courses. What about masters thesis? Do they assess on number of credits in Canada or number or courses? So is a thesis considered as 1 course only?
