Funny because there was an article yesterday from the US saying that flagpoling was tying up their resources on the US side, and today this is announced.

There's a bigger loophole around maintained status where you can apply for extension of WP knowing it will be rejected and keep working. I wonder what the overall economic impact that creates.
I'm guessing it won't be long before IRCC implements a policy to address that. Just my opinion, though.

I think this also happened because the US government was tired of their border officials having to process all these “flagpolers.” Costs US government money, backed up traffic (trucking industry) and took time away from their own work.
