Hello..
I'll be completing studies (Master's) in Dec 2024. My spouse's SOWP is valid until Dec 2025.
1. Is it compulsory to apply for his work permit extension together with my PGWP application?
2. As the SOWP is issued based on the study permit, does it mean that the SOWP is no longer valid after the student completes the programme, even if the SOWP has an expiry date an year ahead?
I'm completing my studies early, that's why the spouse's WP expiry date is in next year.
 
Hi, did you get any update. what is the current status. my visa expiring is on 15th april and my spouse is going to graduating in dec,2024. new sowp changes will be applicable to us for extension or just new application only. please share update if any.
 
My wife's study is completing this week and will get her completion letter in January 2025. I am on SOWP valid till 30-April-2025. My wife has a part time job and is not able to secure a full time job yet. Can we apply for her PGWP and my SOWP together based on her part time job? I know my job doesn't make any difference but shall I include my job offer letter and paystubs to show regular income?

in the same boat as yours. looking for the answers as well. Just that my SOWP visa is expiring on 15-APR-2024 and my wife is graduating in 22-Dec-24. It does not requires yours job related docs. only main applicants like your wife's job related documents are needed . I asked one of the RCIC consultant he asked me for 3 paystubs and around 10kCAD in the bank to show proof. Do you have any knowledge regarding new SOWP rules that are changing from next year onwards.

Thanks for the reply. I am also waiting for the announcement of new SOWP rules. I was informed that they will be announcing changes in January, so keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that they don’t change the rules for people already in Canada.

i am also waiting for that and hoping that they don’t change the rules for people already in Canada. New rules should be applied to only new or fresh applications. lets connect to insta id : jimitjr and discuss further.
 
Can SOWP extension be included in PGWP application if SP holder currently has teer 5 part time job (Sales Associate)?
