Hi everyone, My current study permit in Canada is expiring next month. I already applied for a work permit a while ago, but I haven’t received any updates from IRCC yet.

My new course is starting in September, and I want to continue studying. Can I withdraw my work permit application and apply again for a study permit extension before my current permit expires?

Will withdrawing the work permit affect my chances of getting the study permit extension approved? Would it be possible to apply for PGWP again after? Thanks in advance

If changing DLI, you are not only extending your study permit but you cannot study until it is approved. You also need to explain why you are taking another course. Chances of refusal are high. If you withdraw WP and then wait for response and SP is refused then you probably are past the 6 months to apply for PGWP again. Taking a risk.
