It may have been asked already but I became a little confused and worried and need to clear couple of things up.

1. If you study and succesfully graduate and get a 2 year college diploma, are you allowed to receive only 1 year PGWP or 2-3 year GPWP?

2. If you did receive the GPWP to apply for permenant residence do you have to work full time in YOUR field of study or just something which is in the NOC 0,a,b class occupation list?

3. In addition to the question above, do you have to receive full time employment offer from your employer to be nominated for residency? and do you have to work for 1 year or 6 months like in other provinces in order to apply?

4.Do many employers fill this "Pre-Screen Approved Position Form" and is it possible to find a position in a company as such with a
two year college diploma?

Thanks in advanced!

Hi,

Yeah.. these questions have already been asked and replied for many times on this forum. If you search the forum, you will find all your answers. Anyways to answer you quickly ;) :

1. 3 years PGWP, after 2 years full time course (of 4 SEM/16 months). less than 2 years course will get you PGWP equal to the duration of your studies.

3 & 2. Most immigration programmes, federal or PNPs require you to have a Full time permanent job offer. It really depends on which route you are applying. If you are choosing to apply under federal Canadian Experience class (CEC)..then do ANY skilled job for 1 year and then apply for PR. If you choose, to apply under any of the PNPs, then you may need to work for 3-6 months, in your area of study or not, skilled or unskilled... all depending upon rules of individual provinces.
To know more about each individual PNPs and federal CEC exact rules and conditions, you need to visit the official web-pages, read carefully, research and decide for yourself.

Here's the link of all the immigration programmes available for international students in Canada:

Hope this clarifies your doubts.

Hi,

Assuming you are talking about Ontario PNP;

2. It should be a Full Time + NOC 0,A,B skill based job from any field.
3. Yes, it should be a permanent job offer. The rule of minimum 1 year/6 months work experience is not applicable in Ontario PNP (unlike FSW/CEC/other PNP).
4. It's an employer driven program, so a 'Pre-Screened Approved Form' is required/must.

Thank you for all the replies , I do understand that the 'Pre-Screened Approved Form' is a must an is an employer side deal

I'm just wondering if many employers have such an option or it's only for enterprise companies

Hi,

1. Actually, it doesn't matter if it's an employer or an enterprise company. The entity must be in business for minimum 3 years + holding revenue in between $1,00,000 (inside GTA) to $5,00,000 (outside GTA) + with minimum 3 to 5 permanent employees.
2. Generally, it should be a permanent + full time job offer, still under Ontario PNP your '1 year renewable contract job offer' might be considered as equal to permanent job offer.

thank you very much for the info, I just want to make sure I understand something else which you stated in a previous reply and add a question:

"The rule of minimum 1 year/6 months work experience is not applicable in Ontario PNP (unlike FSW/CEC/other PNP)."

When you've stated the above did you mean that the only way to immigrate in ontario is by the pnp program and not by the federal canadas experience class? or that its just a second way to immigrate without any kind of work experience?

Also, Is it possible to find a skilled type job by completing two-three year program and getting a diploma, or it's only when you have a degree

Hi,

1. It means under Ontario PNP (Opportunities Ontario), work experience is NOT required for international students to apply, unlike in CEC or other PNP programs where international students must have minimum 3 months to 1 year of full time work experience + permanent job offer (except in CEC where no need to have a permanent job/offer).

The requirements you mentioned are not there in case of International Masters Graduate stream. Am I right?
