Hi everyone! I am in a dicey situation and taking a decision in one way can significantly impact my Canadian PR journey. I came to Canada in Jan 2022 to attend 1-year program (As per the college website). My course will get completed after 8 months of continuous study in August 2022. My question is if I apply for the PGWP after I receive a transcript and course completion letter from the college, will I get 1 year Work permit or 8 months work permit? and after 1 year of work experience, my CRS would be 497 in next September 2023. What do you guys recommend, having a second course(already have LOA for the second course) or applying PGWP? In case I take a second course, my, CRS after 3 years from now will be only 500 and I don't want to waste 20k dollars for a course that wouldn't significantly impact my CRS. Sorry for the long question.

I don't think any of us here can tell you for sure if you will get an 8 month PGWP or a 1 year. Both outcomes are possible. If you end up with a 1 year PGWP, please do not assume that you'll manage to get a year of skilled work experience in Canada. This isn't guaranteed and you should not count on these points.

If PR is a priority, then take another program so that you end up with a 3 year PGWP.
