As far as I know, "
  • If the PGWP is valid, the work permit will be issued for up to 18 months from the start of the current PGWP expiration date or passport expiration date.
"
so my new 18 months PGWP should be starting from the expiry date.

However, I got approval yesterday and it says the new one starts from yesterday, which approval is done.

Is this a glitch or real? Should I be waiting for correction?

Im in the same situation, I think it should be the mistake, it's so weird the new one start from approve date. Better to call IRCC,but I don't know whether they can give the answer.

I think the keyword here is: up to 18 months. It didn't specifically said 18 months... Just my opinion, though.

I got PGWP approval letter in my gc key while i was away from Canada and the document has been mailed to my Canada address
now I have to return to Canada
I have a valid trv till 2028
Can i show the in Canada approval letter of pgwp extension and my trv to cbsa officer upon return and show the proof that my pgwp was approved.

This is not a glitch. It is miscommunication from IRCC regarding this policy. The 18-month starts from the date of approval not the date of PGWP expiry.
