I sponsored my parents to come to Canada. Father main applicant, brother as a dependent.
Landing visa expires on november 28, 2025. We are in Quebec.

Now my father has an inflammation that needs to be treated before they come.
We already had tickets booked and my brother made arrangements at his work to be able to come this week.

Now I am panicking because my father cannot probably make it.
Can my brother still come do the landing if my father didn't make it this friday? My father will come once his treatment is done.
Or can I require an urgent visa extension?
Or can I change my mother urgently to become main applicant and withdraw my father?

I am really panicking as all tickets were booked and arrangements made.

Please help

Father must land first and believe you cannot change PA unless a person has died. You cannot withdraw your father. Usually you cannot extend either unless under exceptional circumstances because haven't your family had a year to land. Get a lawyer.

Also be aware that if he tries to come to Canada he will not qualify RAMQ for 3 months if he plans on moving to Quebec permanently and any travel medical insurance likely will not cover anything related to this preexisting condition. Any care he would receive would be out of pocket until he qualified for RAMQ. He also needs to plan to meet the residency requirements for RAMQ to qualify for care under RAMQ. Agree speak to a lawyer.
