I am preparing myself to sponsor my parents for upcoming PGP draw. However, I am not clear on income requirement. I want to explain my scenario, can anyone help me on it?

I moved to Canada in Feb 2020 as PR.

Income as per T4 is as below:

2020: $29,338
2021: $61,725
Expected income of 2022: $92000 +

I got married in Dec 2021 and my spouse came to Canada on PR in September 2022. And I want to sponsor my both mother and father in any draw that may coms in 2023 so that I can provide my last 3 years of Tax assessment.

so I was single from Feb 2020 to August 2022. from Sept 2022 my spouse is addition to my family. and later mother and father would be added.

Should I count 4 person's income cut off for all three years: 2020, 2021 and 2022? or it would be based on number of family members in respective years?

Appreciate your help to get me some clarity on it.

Thank you.

Since your income in 2020 is $29,338, it's below the income requirement even if you do not count your spouse. So in your case, it does not matter how they calculate the number of family.

Scylla is correct. You need to add your spouse to your family once you got married which is 2021.
I am not sure why you said
from Sept 2022 my spouse is addition to my family.
She is added/considered your family once you got married.

Yea.. agree that she is part of family since Dec 2021. But she moved to Canada in 2022.. I didn't know if that make any difference so thought to give clear picture in order to judge better :)

When she moved to Canada is irrelevant. You add your spouse to the count in the year you got married. So that's 2021 for you.

You include your parents in all three years.

If they do not change the requirement for PGP, you can look into PGP 2024 (income for 2021, 22, 23)

They haven't announced which years will be considered for this year's draw. However based on what we know, you need to wait at least one more year. You don't have enough income in 2020 for 3 people.

I got invited for PGP sponsorship this year 2022. My income plus my spouse income for 2019 didn't reach the required income for the family of 5 but we did reached the Income required for 2020 and 2021. Does this mean still I'm not eligible to apply? Thanks in advance to those who will reply.

A frequent question on this forum. You must meet LICO for all three years. You are not eligible.

Would add that you are another person that never qualified to apply in 2020 and should not be part of the 2022 pool. To be part of the PGP2022 pool of applicants you had to have qualified to apply in 2020 which means meeting LICO in 2017,2918 and 2019 when you were not in Canada.
