PGD - 1 year or more?

I have applied for the EE with overall score of 419 (Graduation B.Tech + Work Exp + IELTS/CLB 9)
Apparently, the score is still too low for qualifying for the Visa.
Now it seems like I have below 2 options:

1. Either look for a job or wait for the PNP (Not sure if anyone get PNP with this score - pls confirm if anyone has)
2. Improve my score with Education

I can think of getting myself enrolled into a 1 yr Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) to boost my score.

My Question:
Does 1 yr PGD qualify as a Diploma as mentioned in the CRS tool?
And are correspondence courses included in this or is it have to be a regular course.

Try Ontario PNP... You should be eligible for it with 419
Have you selected Ontario as a state while filling EE profile? 1 year PGD's in India are not recognised as Masters in Canada, Check WES list for recognised colleges before enrolling yourself

Yes, I have selected Ontario as a state but apparently no luck so far.
I am looking for the Diploma for the category of "2 or more Degrees" (mentioned in the CRS tool) not Masters.
Checking the WES list would be best option. Thank you again for this.

Can you kindly guide more on Ontario PNP and how I can proceed from here?

At 419, you may get lucky in the next draw... looking at the current trend.
For OINP, you just have to wait.. In January, people were talking that you need to recreate a profile and only then you get a nomination (I'm not sure if it's true though)... try posting your query on OINP related discussion thread, you may get some expert opinions or hacks

Not yet Gursahib. Trying to find out the list of universities or colleges that WES approve of.
Haven't found any concrete info on this yet.

Hi Guys,

I'm about to complete my Masters degree in Engineering from India and I'm planning to find a job in Canada right after my I complete my Masters. I even had a chat with a consultancy regarding the same. However, I was told that to work in Canada, I require a minimum 2 yrs experience. Since I am a fresher, they gave me an option to apply for a Post Graduate Diploma, either in Engineering or Management of 1 yr in Canada and then apply for jobs there. However, I am concerned about whether this is a viable option as I am unsure about the scope of a PGD in Canada and whether it'll provide me good job opportunities. Kindly help regarding the same.
