PG work permit application alone with spouse living outside Canada

Dear Canada forum..

My wife lives in Canada, she finished her study and applied for Post Grad work permit when she applied online there was an option to apply for spouse who reside different country..now she got her 3 yrs work permit but haven't heard anything from CIC about her spouse application..was it correct that she applied for spouse with her work permit application or spouse has to be in Canada for this kind of application>

Please help!

You might want to post your question in the international students part of the forum, as you will probably get more answers.
Sponsorship is only for PRs and Canadians sponsoring their spouses, so it's a completely different process.
