PG Diploma 2 Years - 1 Year Study + 1 Year Mandatory Co-op - Work Permit ?

I want to know if mandatory Co-op can be qualified as a study - 1 Yr full time study + 1 year full time mandatory co-op = 2 yrs of study ? can i get 3 years of work permit in this case ?
