I would like to share my experience regarding my Canadian Tourist Visa (Temporary Resident Visa – TRV) application and a Procedural Fairness Letter (PFL) I received, mainly to hear from people who may have gone through a similar situation.
I submitted my tourist visa application on 18 July 2026 and later completed my biometrics/fingerprints.
The concern raised by the officer in the PFL was related to the question:
“Have you ever been refused a visa or permit, denied entry or ordered to leave Canada or any other country or territory?”
In my application, I had answered “Yes” and disclosed several previous visa refusals. However, the officer expressed concern that my answer may not have been fully complete and raised the issue of possible misrepresentation.
I responded to the PFL by explaining my position and addressing the officer’s concern directly. I did not submit any additional documents with my response.
It has now been about 20 days since I submitted my response to the PFL, and I am still waiting for the final decision on my Canadian tourist visa application.
I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has had a similar experience, especially where the PFL concerned previous visa refusals or an allegedly incomplete answer.
How long did you wait after submitting your PFL response? Has anyone received a positive decision after responding mainly with explanations and without submitting additional documents? I would also appreciate any experiences from applicants whose PFL involved the refusal-history question.
